Use of artificial intelligence in mobile apps

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the technologies that have managed to revolutionise the way mobile apps look. Functionalities such as image and object recognition, QR code scanning, and facial recognition are just a few of the many possibilities that AI offers mobile app developers.

There are many ways in which AI can be used in mobile software. Usually, it depends on the purpose of the particular application. Let us take a closer look at the most common uses of this technology.

  1. Search engine optimization

Integrating mobile search engines with artificial intelligence makes search operations much more intuitive. This is done by introducing the following solutions: Suggestion, Voice Search, and Spell Correction. Search optimization is usually one of the first solutions that companies introduce for their applications. No wonder, because nothing is more annoying than a problematic search engine that makes simple activities a daunting experience.

  1. Voices and images recognition

Another application of AI is fingerprint or facial recognition based login authentication in mobile apps and devices. The same technology is used in social media apps like TikTok or Snapchat, which offer users face-changing filters that can be used while taking photos or videos. As you can see, AI not only increases the security of your device, but can also be used for entertainment purposes.

  1. Studying behaviours

One of the most popular uses of AI is algorithm integration. It enables the analysis of user behaviour and the creation of personalised offers and products for customers based on these preliminary studies. Personalised offers are undoubtedly one of the most effective ways to increase sales through the app.

  1. Virtual assistant

Businesses today need to be able to provide round-the-clock customer service to their customers. No one is willing to write long emails or call the hotline directly to resolve product-related issues anymore. For this reason, app development companies tend to use AI to provide customers with the help they need 24/7. Chatbots allow users to get information on how to use the device or solve problems they have encountered. The best known and at the same time most developed bots of this kind are Google Assistant and Apple Siri.

  1. Protection of access to applications

The growing number of cyberattacks makes it necessary for companies to increase security standards. App developers need to ensure that it is not likely that someone will break into their app. Thanks to AI, it is possible to create login authentication processes that minimize the risk of a potential attack. Usually, this is achieved through a mix of a few detection features and traditional security methods.

Many applications we use every day would not exist without artificial intelligence. The authentication process, search engines, and customer service would be completely different without the use of this technology. There is no question that the role of AI in app development is constantly growing and there are still many features that are being discovered and surprising users.
